Man at His Bath is acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts.

The acquisition provokes controversy since the museum sold two paintings by Alfred Sissley and one each by Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir to purchase the $17 million masterpiece by Gustave Caillebotte.
